In a Twitter and bot world it is easy to forget that back in 1776, just 242 years ago, America launched a bold experiment in freedom and guaranteed its citizens: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is an aspiration, for all of us have not tasted freedom yet. What we have done is persevere. America has the longest standing written Constitution that can be amendment by the pen, not the sword. It was here in Philadelphia it all got started, and it is here we carry on the search for freedom from fear, for common ground and for new horizons.
